About Us
Sweep’s Luck Chimney Service was founded in Lake Arrowhead, CA by Gil Calkins. Gil and his family moved to Lake Arrowhead in 1982 and subsequently started a family chimney service business that provided the community with reliable, honest, and professional service
In 2004, Gil was looking to move out of state for retirement and the opportunity to acquire the business by Gil’s sons, Nolan and Nathan Calkins was presented and purchased. After purchasing the business from their father, Nolan and Nathan saw the need for expansion as well as an increasing demand for more encompassing services. To better serve their customers, they added more service vehicles, hired more technicians and office personnel, created paperless records systems, and expanded their online presence and advertising. They also purchased Buck Energy Center, a fireplace sales and installation business from their Grandfather, Fred Webster, as well as obtained the dealership rights in California to install the most advanced chimney restoration product, Thermocrete. By doing so, this quickly ensured Sweep’s Luck’s growth by expanding the types of services provided and service locations into many Southern California locations including; the San Bernardino mountains, the Inland Empire, San Diego county, Temecula, Riverside and Palm Springs. Sweep’s Luck Incorporated currently provides service to over 10,000 customers and is continuing to grow.
Nolan and Nathan take pride in maintaining the family business, employing local workers both full and part time, and maintaining a strong presence in local organizations and charities.
